Indiana Trooper Needs Assistance!
On November 27, 2009, Trooper
Michelle Jumper, a 15-year veteran of the Indiana State Police, gave birth to
her second child, Jack. Trooper Jumper and her husband, Jon, who is a Miami
County (Indiana) Deputy Sheriff, found out early in Michelle’s pregnancy that
there was a problem with the baby’s heart.
When Jack was two days old, he
underwent heart surgery. He is still in the hospital in Indianapolis and
his bills are up to $600,000 so far. The state has an insurance cap of
$1,000,000 so they are fast approaching that amount. Once they reach the
cap, Jack will no longer be able to be covered under the state police insurance,
ever.
We have been advised that Jack
may be able to come home in a week or so, but he has to have another surgery
when he is 6-8 months old. In addition, one medicine that he has to take
is $1000 per month and as of right now that medicine is NOT covered by
insurance.
The Miami County Sheriff’s
Department is in the process of planning to produce and publish a cookbook to
raise funds for Jon and Michelle to help with all of their expenses. All
kinds of recipes have been collected for the cookbook.
If you are interested in buying
one of these cookbooks ($10) when they are printed or if you know of others who
would be interested, please email Jodie Miller (Indiana State Police) at
jmiller3@isp.in.gov. They are
trying to get an idea of how many cookbooks to print, so if you will let her
know as soon as possible, it would be appreciated.
Jodie will pick up the cookbooks
once they are printed and make sure you receive your order.
Thank you in advance for helping
assist Trooper Jumper and her family! If you have any questions, please
email Jodie Miller. She will be glad to assist you.

Loss of fellow Grump Paul Keller
Fellow Grump Retired Nassau County PD Sergeant Paul Keller has passed away, the entire Grump Club family will miss him.
I received the following note from Kevin Kellett
Sorry to
advise that our friend and fellow Grump,Paul Keller, passed away. He had been
sick for the last year or so, and had moved back to L.I. to be near his kids.
The last time I heard from him, he obviously didn't sound so good, but,
typically for Paul, he was more concerned about offending us for not keeping in
touch, and not about his situation.
